With excitement and anticipation of a great future, Barbara Hastings has accepted the position as Executive Director of Chesco Inc. effective July 1, 2023. She will be succeeding Joan Moura, Founder/Executive Director who will retire after 38 years of exceptional leadership and service. Barb has served as Associate Director and Business Manager at Chesco Inc for over 30 years. She comes to this position with strong leadership skills and an unwavering dedication to supporting individuals with disabilities. Barb’s energy, creativity, leadership skills and attention to detail will be key in continuing to move Chesco into the future. Congratulations Barb! We are looking forward to many adventures.
Barb will be surrounded by a great team of long-term board members who have plenty of experience working with the organization. Chesco’s management team will also be part of this new structure this includes Lynn Kane-Polczwartek, Director of Nursing & Compliance with 27 years’ experience, Stephanie Bourassa, Director of Services with 16 years’ experience, Dirk Doughty, Director of Operations with 15 years’ of experience and Lynn Roderick, Director of Human Resources with 5 years’ experience.
With many fond memories and sadness, we are formally announcing the retirement of Chesco Inc’s Founder/ Executive Director, Joan Moura, effective June 30, 2023. Throughout Joan’s 38-year history at Chesco Inc., Joan has demonstrated a steady, consistent, supportive leadership style to all. With great team building skills, she is also well known for going above and beyond in all deeds, acts, and decisions. We are thankful to have had her consistent successful leadership for such a long time. She has supported many. She has mentored many, She has tirelessly assisted many to live great lives!
