Greater Monadnock Collaborative Honored with Inaugural BEA Collaborator Award
At the New Hampshire Tourism Summit in Laconia, NH, on May 21, the New Hampshire Department of Business and Economic Affairs (BEA) presented its first-ever BEA Collaborator of the Year Award to the Greater Monadnock Collaborative (GMC). The prestigious accolade was presented by BEA Commissioner Taylor Caswell to Luca Paris, President/CEO of GMC.
The award highlights an organization that has shown commitment, partnership and support to communities and the state throughout the year for the greater good of tourism and economic development.
Caswell lauded the GMC’s transformative efforts, stating, “The Greater Monadnock Collaborative has taken a chamber and propelled it into a mega powerhouse in Southwest New Hampshire. They have taken what we are selling as a tourism product and converted it into economic vibrancy and vitality for their region.”
In recent years GMC has made a substantial investment in promoting the Monadnock Region, with the goal of attracting visitors, workers, young residents, and college students to the area.
Paris expressed his gratitude, “I was so honored to accept this award on behalf of the many people that have put their time and effort into making this happen. We have a long way to go, but with partners like Cheshire County and the BEA we are committed more than ever to working together to promote NH’s Monadnock Region and the State of New Hampshire as a great place to visit, live, work, and learn.
Julie Schoelzel, GMC’s Director of Regional Marketing, added, “It feels great to receive this recognition from the BEA, and they are right to call this the Collaborator Award, as our success would not have been possible without their leadership and support. Since launching in January 2023, we have received more than 250,000 visitors to MonadnockNH.com, have had more than 1,000,000 views of related social media content, created a beautiful annual visitor’s guide, and developed some really fun advertising campaigns such as “Amazing Views and Delicious Brews.” The BEA’s support has allowed us to achieve so much in such a short period of time, and we’re so grateful to them.
